The next lunar eclipse will be on March 25, 2024.

It will be a penumbral lunar eclipse where the Moon travels through the Earth's penumbra, the light outer part of its shadow.

Penumbral lunar eclipses are less spectacular than total and partial lunar eclipses, which involve the Earth's umbra, the shadow's dark core. Penumbral eclipses are often difficult to tell apart from a normal Full Moon.

A lunar eclipse can be seen from all locations on the night side of Earth.

This eclipse will be visible in Washington DC. It will begin at 12:53:16 am local time when the Earth's shadow will begin covering the lunar surface. The eclipse will be over at 5:32:27 am.

Check out the local weather forecast to find out if you will have clear skies to view the eclipse!
